Lilly Ann Barrett

Lilly Ann Barrett, age 86, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in Abingdon, VA. She was born April 6, 1940, in Washington County, VA to the late Lon and Ethel Yarber.

Lilly enjoyed working in her flowers, fishing and refinishing furniture. She worked many years in manufacturing but spent most of her life working beside her husband farming. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Words can't express the time and energy that was spent helping each and everyone. She loved preparing meals for holidays and special times with her family.

Survivors include her children Gary E. Barrett of Meadowview, VA, Sherry Barrett and spouse, Robert Mitchell of Abingdon, VA, Tony Barrett (Miyuki Fields) of Meadowview, VA, Michaell Barrett (Mary Tennis) of Bristol, TN; grandchildren Seth Barrett (Emily), Brittany O'Hara (Brenden), Hannah Barrett, Kayla Protzman (George), Devin Barrett, Tiffany Adams, Tasha Adams, Jordan Wyatt, Mary Shupe (Branson), Sarah Barrett, Mica Barrett (Dawson), Luke Barrett; great grandchildren, Adeline, Lilly, Isla, Trey, Brodie, Ronon, Finn, Ellie, Ethan and Remi.

A special thanks goes out to Bob Mitchell, Penny Wiles, Mark Barrett, Ann Barrett, Mary Tennis, Teresa Dixon, Miyuki Fields and Joyce Eller for all the help they gave during her illness.

A graveside service for Lilly Ann Barrett will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210 with David Barrett and Darrell Watson officiating. Family members will be serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
