Margaret Marie Odum Campbell

Bristol, VA – Margaret Marie Odum Campbell, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, with close family by her side.  Marie was lifelong farm housewife, an avid square dancer and line-dancing instructor, loved Bingo, and enjoyed bowling competitively.  She regularly attended Community Church at Bristol, while she was able, as well as other churches during her lifetime.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Odum, Sr., and Susie Webb Odum; husband, Charles Campbell; son, Charles Allen Campbell; and ten siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Pippin; siblings, Sylvester “Hank” Odum and wife Eunice, Calvin “Cowboy” Odum and wife Helen, and Elizabeth “Topsy” Dixon and husband Arvin; daughter-in-law, Linda Campbell; grandchildren, Annie Kennedy, Judy Farley, Heidi Dishner, Adam Farley, Edward Campbell, Greer Shrewsberry, and April Winegar; and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Chris Clark, niece, and her son Jay Clark, regularly visited and cared for her during the later years of her life, which the family is extremely appreciative of.  The family would also like to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for taking care of her during those later years as well.

Family and friends are invited to graveside services which will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA, with pastor Steve Robinson officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Farley, Steve Nerren, Rodney Arnold, Timmy Arnold, and Jay Clark.
