Marjorie Nell Phillips McCall

Abingdon, Va. - Marjorie Nell Phillips McCall, age 82, passed away at Johnston Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. She was born in Laurens, South Carolina, before moving with her family to Greenville, South Carolina, where she attended Greenville High School. Marjorie worked as a seamstress at a carpet mill in South Carolina before moving to Abingdon, Virginia, where she finished out her seamstress career at Harwood Manufacturing. She loved the outdoors; she especially enjoyed tending her flower gardens and observing wildlife.

Marjorie loved and was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather and her paternal grandmother, Vida Phillips, who raised her; she was also predeceased by her only sibling, a sister, Mary.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, James E. McCall.
