Mary Riddle McFarland, 93, of Inman, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Rosecrest Community Residential Care. Mary was born in Pulaski, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Errol Thomas Roller and the late Almeda Grooms Roller. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Reverand Cecil Eugene McFarland. Mary was a minister’s wife and was a lady of strong faith.
She and her late husband Cecil enjoyed traveling the world over. Some of their travels included trips to Europe, the Holy Land, Canada, and on the Mississippi Cruise. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader. She was a lady with a giving heart and enjoyed volunteer work. She loved knitting prayer shawls, chemo caps for cancer patients, baby hats for babies in the hospital, and children’s hats for local schoolchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. To know her was to love her and she will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her a son: Bob McFarland; a daughter and son-in-law: Ann and Mark Collins; two grandchildren: Kim Coggins (Justin) and Katie Bridges (Madison); two great grandchildren: Fiona Bridges and Zane Coggins. Also left to cherish her many memories is her sister: Martha Briscoe (Gary) of Hoover, AL.
Mary will be laid to rest beside her late husband in Holston Conference Cemetery in Emory, Virginia in private ceremony. Mary’s memories will live for years to come in the hearts of her family and friends.
