Abingdon, VA

It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of McKinley Allen "Kenny" Heath, who departed this life on May 29, 2026, in Abingdon, Virginia, the town where he was also born on March 16, 1966. A devoted family man, a dedicated professional, and a proud U.S. Navy veteran, Kenny’s life was marked by service, steadfast commitment, and genuine warmth.

Kenny was a trusted Diesel Mechanic, whose skill and work ethic were integral to the operations at Petro Truck Stop in Glade Spring. His professional journey also connected him with Loves Truck Stop in Meadowview, Bristol Compressors, Flowers Bread, and Quick Cafe.

An alumnus of Rich Valley High School and Virginia Highlands Community College, Kenny combined technical knowledge with practical experience, a blend that defined his career and his approach to life. His fourteen years of military service as a U.S. Navy veteran, including his participation in Desert Storm, stand as a testament to his courage, discipline, and unyielding patriotism.

Kenny’s family was the center of his world. He was a loving husband for eighteen years to Christy Lloyd Heath, who stood by his side through life’s many chapters along with their children: Bethannie Wagoner and her special friend Adam Routh, and Malachi Wagoner. His brothers, Curtis Shew with his wife Kim, and Joe Rasnake with his wife Beth, shared treasured bonds that enriched his days. His mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robin and Bobby Lloyd, along with his brother-in-law Aaron Lloyd, were part of the close-knit family circle that brought strength and support. Kenny was also a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews, who will carry fond memories of his kindness and presence.

Throughout his life, Kenny built enduring friendships with people such as Victoria Hawkins, Daniel Cash, and Tom and Samantha Clark, who cherished his camaraderie and steadfast loyalty. These friendships, marked by mutual respect and genuine affection, were an extension of the generous spirit he carried within him. In addition, Kenny found special comfort and unwavering companionship in his service dogs, Ranger and Storm, who were his steadfast friends and cherished family members. We also remember his parents, Ronald and Mary Virginia Heath Rasnake, who preceded him in death. Their legacy lives on through Kenny’s life and the family he nurtured with love and devotion.

McKinley Allen "Kenny" Heath’s legacy is one of dedication—to his family, his country, his work, and the community he served. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to his family and friends in the days ahead. At Kenny's request, no formal services will be conducted.
