Mr. Melvin Clark, age 78, passed away on Saturday January 23, 2016 in Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Washington County Virginia, but had lived in Bristol for a number of years. Melvin attended Christian Church in Bristol and was a veteran of the U.S Army, having served in El Paso, TX. He retired as a supervisor from Bristol Compressors, and also worked at Johnston Memorial Hospital and Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon.
He is survived by his wife Clara D. Williams-Clark. He was father to 2 sons and 4 daughters, was a brother to 2 sisters, grandfather to grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He had a host of brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday January 29, 2016 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastors Joe Hairston, Lester Turner and Billy Fullen officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
