Morris R. Jordan, Sr., age 88, of Abingdon, VA and formerly of Coeburn, VA, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center. He was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II.

He was born in Wise County, VA a son of the late Walter and Lena Jordan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Billie; son, Morris R. "Reggie" Jordan, Jr. and wife Liz; grandson, Travis Jordan of Pompano Beach, FL; twin sister, Lois Kirkham of Lexington, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Steven W. Pollard officiating. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Acres Memorial Gardens, 436 Centre Avenue, Coeburn, VA 24230, at 4:00 p.m. Monday for a committal service where Military Honors will be presented by the local V.F.W. Chapters and the Virginia National Guard. Members of the Denton Sunday School Class will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abingdon Baptist Church, 361 West Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210.
