Nancy Driver Payne

Nancy Driver Payne passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her home. Nancy was the only child of the late, Wilbur and Helen Keplinger Driver.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John Milton “Sonny” Payne.

Nancy was born in Saltville, VA on August 9, 1932. She was a graduate of Saltville High School, Class 1949, and a graduate of Roanoke Memorial School of Nursing, Class of 1952. She retired from Bristol Memorial Hospital in 1984, after 34 years of service. She was a member of Wyndale United Methodist Church and served as President of Wyndale Methodist Women for several years.

She is survived by several cousins; two special cousins, Janice Tinsley, Bent Mt., VA and Sue Marsh, Abingdon, VA; faithful friend Melissa Tackett and church family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Farris Cremation and Funeral Center on the grounds of Forest Hills. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bennie Bowman and Rev. Lloyd Farrier officiating. Burial will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Wyndale United Methodist Church.
