Norma Ann Orr

Norma Ann Orr, age 89, of Abingdon, Virginia passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. Ann was born in Clintwood, Virginia on December 26, 1935.

She was a homemaker for many years. In addition to this, her hobbies consisted of reading, quilt making and being a devoted mother. Her faith was strong and was a devoted Christian.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzo and Genola Edwards; her son, Victor Sykes; sisters Carol Morisette and Sharon Rhudy; and her husband, Thomas Sykes.

She is survived by her son Terry Sykes and wife Karen Sykes; granddaughter Nickie Hollandsworth and her husband, Jordan Hollandsworth; and sister Rita Salyer.

The family would like to give special recognition to the Thomas/Belcher family, Courtney Belcher and her husband, Nick Belcher as well as her parents, Gary and Angie Thomas.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 E. Main Street, Abingdon, VA. The funeral will be held at 6:00 pm following the visitation. Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, those wishing to attend the burial service are asked to be at the cemetery by 10:45 am.
