Opal Shortt Miller

Bristol, VA – Opal Shortt Miller, age 95, passed on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.  Mrs. Miller was daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Lilly Shortt and graduate of William King High School.  She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and retired from Raytheon after 30 years of employment. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Warren Hank Miller; grandson, Bradley Miller; great-great grandson, Elijah Ramey; brothers, Havard Shortt, and Sam Shortt; and sister, Bonnie Nelson.

She is survived by her son, Glenn “Pete” Miller and wife Donna of Bristol, VA; four grandchildren, Melissa Hutton and husband Neal, Krista Longmore and husband Mike, Kreg Ramey and wife Jodi, and Matt Ramey; nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, with Kreg Ramey officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Mausoleum.
