Patricia Ann Kestner, affectionately known as Ann, was born on March 3, 1953, in Abingdon, Virginia, to the late Henry Washington Kestner and Bessie Leola Litton Kestner. She passed away on August 16, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Abingdon.
Ann dedicated her life to the art of cooking, working as a cook at a local restaurant where her culinary talents brightened the days of many. She was known for her kind and welcoming nature, always making others feel at ease in her presence. Ann's warmth extended beyond her kitchen; she cherished her time spent in the community, finding joy in attending church at Damascus Road Baptist Church, listening to Gospel music, and immersing herself in the delightful challenge of crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Kestner; her siblings, Charles Kestner, Helen Selfe, Samuel Kestner, Sr., John Kestner, Bob Kestner, Evelyn Kestner, Junior Kestner; 2 great-grandchildren, Braxon and Christopher Rosenbaum and brother-in-law, Joe Pruner.
In her personal life, Ann was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her beloved children, Heather Rosenbaum and Chris "Buddy" Kestner. Her legacy continues through her siblings, Brenda Haynes, Roger Kestner, Linda Pruner, and Doug Kestner. Ann was also a proud grandmother to Dustin Kestner, Nicole Kestner (Jesse Robbins), Donald Rosenbaum, and Brian Rosenbaum, as well as a cherished great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her nurturing spirit.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Farris Funeral Service-Main Street Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Frank Branson officiating. Interment will be at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Christopher "bubby" Kestner, Heather Lynne Kestner, Brian Rosenbaum, Jesse Robbins, Curtis Phillips, and Sam Kestner. Naomi Arnold will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Patricia Ann Kestner touched many lives with her kindness and love, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us of the beauty of compassion and the joy of togetherness.
