Patsy Mae Robinette, age 78, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away on November 10, 2025 at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA. Born on December 19, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Patsy graced the world with her vibrant spirit and enduring kindness.

In 1984, Patsy made her way to Abingdon, where she purchased the beloved Hi-Lo Burger, a local establishment she cherished and ran until 2014. Her dedication and hard work were evident in every facet of her career, creating lasting memories for those in the community who frequented her establishment.

Patsy was a woman of many passions and interests. She found immense joy in the world of cinema, often indulging in a day at the theater where she would watch multiple movies in one sitting. Her love for entertainment extended to her fondness for Elvis and the captivating drama of soap operas, particularly General Hospital. A devoted member of the MidWay Church in Abingdon, she valued her faith and the community around her.

A culinary enthusiast, Patsy had a particular fondness for diverse cuisines, enjoying outings that featured her favorite dishes from Chinese and Mexican restaurants, as well as her beloved McDonald's.

Patsy was also a devoted pet lover, and her dogs, Emerald and Phifer Renee Danielle, were an integral part of her life, filling her days with affection and companionship.

She leaves behind a loving family who will profoundly miss her presence. Patsy is survived by her children, Pam Yates (Rocky) and Hershell Robinette, Jr., as well as her cherished grandchildren, Keshia Canter (James Wood) and Kevin Canter (Dakota). The joy of her great-grandchildren, Izabella Oaks, Kace Canter, and Clint Canter, brought her immense happiness. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews and her best friends, Gloria Machleit and Penny Johnson, all of whom carry forward the legacy of her warmth and love.

Patsy Mae Robinette will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her dedication to family and community, and her unwavering love for her pets. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
