Peggy Ann Smith

Abingdon, VA –Peggy Ann Smith, age 70, went to be with her Lord, on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She was born on December 25, 1951, to the late Thomas Wood Walden and Alice A. Helton Walden. She was a kind, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Peggy loved flowers and the beauty they brought to her life and the lives of others. She was an avid crossword solver and an incredible cook.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Mike Walden, Rob Walden, and Tommy Walden; one sister, Shirley Barrett; and one grandson, Trevor Tadlock.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Amanda Wright, and her husband Bradley; her son, Thomas Walden, and his partner Jade Reedy; her daughter, Alice Sadler, and her husband, Michael; her sister, Betty Blevins; her brother, Henry Walden; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Robert Osborne officiating. Logan Walden, Isaac Chaffin, Dakota Sadler, Tyler Blevins, Kevin Chaffin, and Zack Blevins will serve as pallbearers. Michael Sadler, Ethan Bradley Woody, Thomas Blevins, Elvis Blevins, James Blevins, Thomas Allen Walden, and Crystal Chaffin will serve as honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Farris Cremation and Funeral Center, located at 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. 24210.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Farris Funeral Service to assist the family in offsetting costs of Peggy Ann Smith’s final arrangements.
