Peggy Anne Boyd

Peggy A. Boyd was born in Washington County, Virginia on April 26, 1938. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend of Meadowview, Virginia. Peggy passed away peacefully in Arizona with her family by her side. She went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 87 on December 6th, 2025.

Peggy devoted her life proudly working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service supporting the troops and our freedom alongside her husband, John. Peggy dedicated her life to the Lord at a young age, guiding her family with strong values and a firm foundation. While living in Meadowview, Virginia, Peggy was a beloved member of West Main FreeWill Baptist Church.

Peggy was admired for her unshakeable faith, resilience, courage, and her ability to see the positive in all things. Peggy was a strong and truly brave woman. She was spirited and not afraid to speak her mind. Peggy taught her children to be brave and strong no matter what, and to keep exploring the world through reading.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband John R. Boyd and her son Jeffery D. Boyd, her parents Glenn and Edna Miller, her sister Eloise Wise, and her brother Glenn Junior Miller. Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Yunis and her husband Hazim, and Bonny Thornhill and her husband Tony, granddaughters Candice and Brooke Yunis, grandson Travis Thornhill and his wife Leah, and her great grandson Greyson Thornhill.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Wright officiating. Committal service will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum in Abingdon, Virginia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 from noon to 1:00pm at Farris Funeral Service.
