Ray Francis Smiley, Jr.

Ray Francis Smiley, Jr., age 76, passed on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his home. Ray was raised in Marshfield, WI, where he was a 1965 graduate of Marshfield High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a flight navigator during the Vietnam War and later served in the Naval Reserves for over 20 years. Ray retired as a lineman for Consumers Electric after 25 years of service. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Virginia.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Francis Smiley and Elizabeth Hughes Smiley.

He is survived by his wife, Sharyn Jo Malone; sons, David Alan Malone and wife Inis of Germany, and John Malone of Tullahoma, TN; daughter, Christine Kazlauskas and husband Matthew of Knoxboro, NY; grandchildren, David Malone, Jr., Jana Malone, Alexandria Woods, Otis Malone, Tayla Malone, Joshua Kazlauskas, Daniel Kazlauskas, and Lillian Kazlauskas; great granddaughter, Emmy Grace Malone; brother, John Smiley and wife Chris; three sisters, Sue Humphreys, Paula Green and husband Dan, and Rita Smiley; and many special nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Smiley’s request, no services will be held.
