Robert “Bobby” Douglas Crosswhite, a dedicated and seasoned over-the-road trucker, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in his hometown of Abingdon, Virginia. He was born on July 26, 1945, in Abingdon to the late Raymond Crosswhite, Sr. and Naomi Brown Crosswhite.
For over four decades, Bobby was not only a steadfast over-the-road trucker but also the proud owner and operator of his own trucking business. His career was characterized by unwavering dedication to his profession, demonstrating a level of expertise and reliability that earned him respect throughout the trucking community. His journeys spanned countless miles, and his work ethic reflected the integrity and perseverance that defined his character. Bobby lived a life marked by hard work, commitment, and a profound connection to the road he knew so well.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bobby found joy in the outdoors, particularly in deer hunting, a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and indulge in his passion for the wilderness.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Loma Mink Crosswhite, and his brother, Kenneth Crosswhite.
Survivors include his daughter, Diana Crosswhite; his siblings, Raymond Crosswhite, Jr. and his wife, Kim; Jesse Crosswhite, Sr. and his wife, Lennis; Linda Tate and her husband, Lewis; Harold Crosswhite and his wife, Jeanie; Brenda Fields and her husband, Roger; and Kelly Crosswhite and his wife, Darlene; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews who held him in high regard.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, located at 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210, with Pastor Mark Edwards officiating.
Robert Douglas Crosswhite’s life was a testament to perseverance, devotion to family, and a love of the open road. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who knew him. His passing leaves a significant void, but his memory and spirit will continue to inspire.
