Robert (Bobby) Lewis Kestner, 71, of Chapin, SC went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 17, 2024. Born in Abingdon, VA, he was a son of the late William McKinley Kestner and Kathleen Reedy Kestner.
Bobby was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who left a solid imprint on the many lives that he touched. He served his country in the National Guard and served the Lord by always dedicating his time to help others. His passion for life and commitment to others radiated far beyond his physical presence. He loved his family BIG! He was an avid Gamecock fan and always enjoyed catching a game. Bobby spent many years of his professional career as a Service Manager at Hampton Automotive; after 25 years of hard work, he opened the doors to Kestner Automotive in 2002, where he was a proud owner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sharon Huffstetler Kestner; son, McKinley Kestner (Deana Marie), daughter-in-love, Leigh Powell Kestner; grandchildren, Blake and Anna Kestner; special “daughter” and “sons”, Lori Contreras (Eladio), Lonnie Huffstetler (Jessica), Jacob Huffstetler (Kim); great nieces and nephews, Colton Goodwin (Johanna), Alex Goodwin (Jordan), Marcus Contreras, Nicholas Contreras, Nicholas Sawyer, Madeline Sawyer, Riley Huffstetler, Russell Huffstetler; great-great niece, Braelyn Goodwin; sisters, Martha Jeanette Kestner Jessee, Naomi Kestner Barrett, Lou Vonda Kestner Price; brothers, John Calvin Kestner, Samuel Dophus Kestner; brother-in-law, Richard Huffstetler (Melody); many Kestner family nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly as his own; and his very best fur friend, Bentley.
He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Catherine Leigh Kestner; son, Micah Alvin Kestner; sister, Genevieve Kestner Rogers; and brothers, Daniel Whitson Kestner, Titus William Kestner, and Michael Anthony Kestner.
A celebration of life drop-in visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 3-6pm, at Barr-Price Funeral Home in Lexington (609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC 29072). In lieu of flowers and in honor of Bobby’s selfless service to others, donations can be made to Service Dogs for Veterans (sd4v.org).
