Roney Smith Harless, 69, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Bristol Regional Hospital. He was born in Lebanon, Va. but had spent most of his life in Washington County, Va. Roney was a mechanic and also worked at Bristol Compressors, where he retired. He loved his family. His rough outside gave way to his tender inside as he cared for his children, grandchildren and extended family members. Roney loved gardening and always took time to hunt and fish.
He was predeceased by his wife Joyce Ann and his parents Archie and Maudie Harless; brother Freddie Lee Harless; and sister Mary Jean Harless.
Roney is survived by his sons Roney Wayne Harless and Christopher Lee Harless both of Glade Spring, Va., and Anthony Chadwick Harless of Meadowview, Va.; daughter Vicky Ashley of Abingdon; sister Ella Sue Jones of Abingdon; grandchildren Danielle Lee Harless, Toby Harless and Caleb Anderson.
