Roxie Ann Rose Hammons

Abingdon, VA – Roxie Ann Rose Hammons, age 84, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.  Mrs. Hammons lived many years in Dickenson County, VA before moving to Abingdon in 1987.  She loved quilting, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.  She was of the Baptist Faith, loved Jesus, and enjoyed singing in church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Hammons; three sons, Gary Wayne Hammons, Mitchell Wade Hammons, and Carl Gene Hammons; parents, Carlos and Dora Mae Mullins Rose; sister, Dolly Rose Hall; and brother, Evans Rose.

Mrs. Hammons is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Beavers and husband Anthony; nephew who she considered her own son, Bobby Hammons and wife Carolyn; six grandchildren, Melissa Hammons, Terry Hammons and wife Roxanne, Scott Hammons and wife Erika, Gabrielle Edens and husband Nathan, Dean Beavers, and K.K. Beavers; and four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hammons, Keithan Hammons, Kyle Edens, and Rylan Edens.

Visitation with the family will be held 1-2 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2022, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA.  Graveside services will follow the visitation in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Caleb Holman officiating.  Pallbearers will be Dean Beavers, Anthony Beavers, Terry Hammons, Scott Hammons, Bobby Hammons, and Nathan Edens.
