Ruth Marie Denton Canter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Marie Denton Canter on June 22, 2205. She was a beloved mother, nanny, cherished friend, and an amazing seamstress.

She was born on October 10, 1943, in Bristol, TN. Ruth was a seamstress for over 30 years and later secretary of the Virginia Highlands Airport for 25 years. She was very passionate about the Lord and her family, always spoiling the grandchild and making church a priority.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Oakley and Grey Nester Lilly, and husband, Johnny Lee Canter. She will be deeply missed by her son, Shane Denton and wife Danielle; grandchildren, Amber and Declan Denton; and close friends, Janet and Marvin Farmer.

Services will be private with Pastor Matt Holman officiating. Interment will be held in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
