Sadie Taylor Kestner

Sadie Taylor Kestner age 95, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Abingdon Health and Rehab in Abingdon, VA.
Sadie was born in Washington County, VA on February 18, 1927, to the late John Henry & Julie O’Quinn Taylor. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Ernest Fletcher Kestner, two sons Lyle Preston Kestner and Lawrence Edward Kestner; sisters Ella Mae Hudson, Irene Bailey, Mattie Snodgrass, Kansas Inscore, Kathleen Dancy, and Maudie Taylor; brothers Ralph Taylor, Dasoda “Happy” Taylor, and Charles Taylor; and a granddaughter Shawna Ashby.
Sadie was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the First Church of God Glade Spring. She was always taking time reading her Bible, studying verses, and even copying the entire Bible by hand. Sadie enjoyed watching the deer and was an avid drawer.
She is survived by her four sons Donald Kestner & wife Reva of Glade Spring, David “Randy’ Kestner & wife Teresa of Glade Spring, Larry Kestner & wife Pina of Glade Spring, and Wayne Kestner of Bristol, VA; grandchildren Casey Yonts & husband Michael, Justin Kestner & wife Emily, Randolph Kestner, Tonia Kestner, Tammy Jo McCoy & husband Eric, Don Brewer, Tyler Brewer, Jeffrey Kestner & wife Carita, Chris Kestner & wife Melissa, Tracy Hicks & husband David, Renee Kestner Woodward, Lyle Kestner, Jr. & wife Brittany, Jamey Kestner, Drew Kestner & wife Marti, Brooke Kestner; daughter-in-law Jill Kestner; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Hwy., Abingdon Va. 24210. Graveside services will follow in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor James Walls officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Yonts, Justin Kestner, Jeff Kestner, Chris Kestner, Eric McCoy, Randolph Kestner, and Lyle Kestner, Jr.
