Mr. Samuel Dean Denton, 75, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Dean grew up in Clinchburg, VA and was a First Class Airman in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Wallace United Methodist Church. Dean retired from the Bristol Virginia Utilities Water Plant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank N. and Lillian Denton, his brothers, Jessie, Charles, Morton and Cecil Denton, his sisters, Elsie Rainy and Mary Ruth Tenneson.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Rector Denton, Bristol, VA, his brothers, Lacy Denton and wife Joyce, Bristol, VA, Harvey Denton and wife Shelthy, Tazewell, his sister, Frances Gemmell, Tazewell, VA.
A cryptside service will be conducted Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with the Reverend Amy Bartee officiating. Entombment will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mahanaim United Methodist Church,
P. O. Box 1093, Saltville, VA, 24370 or to the Wallace United Methodist Church, c/o Joanne Denton, 12626 Chesterfield Lane, Bristol, 24202.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from Noon until 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
