Sharon Davidson Singleton passed away on June 19, 2026, in Glade Spring, VA. She was born on October 18, 1955, in Saltville, VA, to the late Nancy Sanders Davidson and Charles William Davidson. Her passing marks the end of a life defined by compassion, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Sharon’s legacy is rooted deeply in her lifelong commitment to caring for others. After graduating from Patrick Henry High School, she pursued her calling in nursing at Virginia Highlands Community College, earning her degree and embarking on a career that touched countless lives. Sharon dedicated her professional years to serving as a registered nurse for Washington County Schools, Eastman Chemical Company, and Bristol Regional Medical Center. Throughout her career, she was known for her steady hand, calming presence, and deep empathy for those in her care.
Outside of her profession, Sharon’s personal life was centered around family. She was a devoted wife to Jerry, whose loving partnership was a cornerstone of her happiness and strength. Sharon was a loving mother and grandmother, cherishing the moments she spent with her family. Among her proudest accomplishments was the joy she found in being a grandmother to her three beloved grandsons: Keagan, Kolton, and Kollin. Her affection and attention were ever-present, forming cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Davidson.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jerry Wayne Singleton; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Kama Hutton and Kent; three grandsons, Keagan, Kolton, and Kollin; her siblings, Wes Davidson (Vickie), Mona Salyer, and Jon Davidson (Laura); special friends, Vickie Wampler and Jennifer Neely; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Sharon enjoyed simple pleasures that enriched her days. She was an avid reader who found inspiration and relaxation in books. Her love of horses was a lifelong passion, and she relished the quiet moments spent riding. Sharon kept herself informed and engaged by keeping up with Fox News, embodying an active interest in the world around her. Her faith was central to her life—she was a devout Christian, and her beliefs guided her actions, relationships, and outlook on life. She was a faithful member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Abingdon.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Darius Bowman officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, and great-nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Lindsay Wilson and the nurses with Ballad Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Sharon.
Sharon Davidson Singleton’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched mourn her loss and celebrate her memory. In her acts of love, service, and faith, Sharon leaves behind a lasting legacy of kindness and devotion.
