Shelby Jean Alexander

Abingdon, VA - Shelby Jean Alexander, age 73, passed on November 30, 2022, at her home in Abingdon.  Ms. Alexander was born on December 21, 1948, in Russell County, Virginia. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and was a caregiver for many years. She had a love of puzzle books and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa (Jeff) Casey and Lisa (J.L.) Bailey; two brothers, Bobby Price and Ralph Price; her sister, Phyllis Dotson; five grandchildren, Amanda Miller, Kayla Bailey, Megan Bailey, Chandler Casey, Olivia Ramsey; three great grandchildren, Caiden Miller, Ethan Miller and Landon Miller; brothers-in-law, L.K. Addison, Buster Clark, Kyle Alexander and Danny Alexander; sisters-in-law, Nancy Stoots and her fur baby Oreo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kyle Price and Mildred Phillips Price; husband, Ernest B. Alexander; sister, Gerri Addison; two brothers, Walter Kyle “Junior” Price and James Denton Price; granddaughter, Heather Ramsey; great grandson, Logan Miller; niece, Amy Dotson and two nephews, Randy Addison and Michael Price.

Visitation with the family will be held 1-2 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022, in the Forest Hills location of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA.  A private funeral service will be held with Minister Don Turnmire of Glade Spring Church of Christ will conduct the services.  Burial will take place at Forest hills Cemetery.
