Sherrie DeBord Thomas

Sherrie DeBord Thomas, age 62, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026, at home. Sherrie was born in Marion, Virginia, to Ben and Nancy DeBord. After marrying in 1998, she and her husband, Daniel Thomas, lived on a small farm in Glade Spring, Virginia raising their two daughters Rebekah Gusinac and Sarah Thomas.

To know Sherrie, is to know the feeling of God’s love on Earth. She is truly the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. She is respectful (vs. 12), virtuous (vs. 10), strong (vs. 25), honorable (vs. 25), wise (vs. 26), kind (vs. 26), faithful (vs. 11), and so much more. She is a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. Sherrie is known and loved by many.

She always kept a smile on her face, knew how to bring comfort to others, and held strong to her faith. Her laugh filled a room with joy and her voice calmed many. She has been a light to others all through her life and has always sought to bring everyone happiness and love.

Sherrie is survived by her husband Daniel Thomas; two daughters Rebekah Gusinac and Sarah Thomas; and brother Duane DeBord. She is preceded in death by her father Ben Debord and mother, Nancy DeBord.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Tom Sullivan, Thomas Ricard, and Stewart Orr officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Glade Baptist Cemetery, Forest Hills Dr. Glade Spring with Edvin Gusinac, P.J. Catron, Mike Thomas, Barry Frye, Stacy Olinger, and Steve Widner serving as pallbearers.
