He loved sitting in the rocking chair with headphones on listening to classic rock and would often be found reading numerous books of any sort, especially regrding military history.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” DeBord, and wife, Kimberly Muse DeBord. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Davidson DeBord; three children, Crystal McKemy and husband Jimmy, Stephen DeBord, II, and John DeBord; sisters, Janie Arnold and husband Stanley, and Lisa Whitt and husband Gary; grandchildren, Ethan Landell, Noel McKemy, Aaron DeBord, and Chase McKemy; great granddaughter, Cairo Landell; aunts, Dolly Carter and husband Robert, Lilly Rishner, Susie DeBord, Phyllis Kurpias and husband Zach, and Carolyn Davidson; uncles, Jimmy DeBord and Dan Davidson and wife Shirley; special friend and extraordinary caregiver, Charlotte Warren; life-long friend, Brent Price; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
