Sylvia Ann Johnson, beloved wife, office manager, and caring individual, passed away on November 3, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1943, and touched the lives of many during her time here.
Sylvia dedicated much of her life to her career as an Office Manager at a dental office. Her attention to detail and caring nature made her a true asset to the dental practice she worked for. Colleagues admired her dedication and the professionalism she brought to her work every day.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sylvia was an active member of East Baptist Church. Her faith played an important role in her life, providing her with strength and guidance throughout the years. Sylvia's commitment to her church community allowed her to form lasting connections and create cherished memories.
Sylvia's caring nature extended not only to her professional life but also to her personal life. She was always there for her loved ones when they needed support or a kind word. One of Sylvia's most notable qualities was her kindness towards others. Her acts of kindness made a significant impact on those around her and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Education held great importance in Sylvia's life, as she completed high school and valued the knowledge she gained throughout her studies. It was through education that she developed the skills necessary for success in both personal and professional endeavors.
Beyond work and education, Sylvia had several interests that brought joy into her life. Being a caretaker at heart, she found fulfillment in taking care of others. Whether it was lending a listening ear or offering assistance where needed, Sylvia's nurturing nature shone brightly.
Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, John Johnson. His unwavering support and companionship brought immeasurable happiness to Sylvia's life. Together they created cherished memories that will forever be held close to John's heart. She is survived by her step-children; Angela Bowman and John Johnson, III.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her father, John Thomas, and her mother, Louise Lester. Their love and guidance laid the foundation for Sylvia's kind-hearted nature and influenced the person she became.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation service, which will be held on November 8, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel located at 427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM in Forest Hills Memory Gardens at 19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210 with Pastor Peter Vandenberg officiating.
Sylvia Ann Johnson will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her kind heart, compassionate nature, and loving spirit will continue to inspire those left behind. As we gather to celebrate her life and mourn her passing, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives.
