Chilhowie, VA – Tony C. Compton, age 67, passed on Friday, February 25, 2022, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Tony was a Graduate of Lebanon High School and attended UVA at Wise. He was a longtime employee of Hapco.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ellen Johnson Compton; brothers, Raymond and Walter Compton; and sisters, Marie Compton, Doris Lester, and Wilma Street.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Roark Compton; three sons, Dwaine Compton and wife Carie of Appleton, WI, and Joshua Compton and wife Allyson of Chilhowie, VA, and Matthew Compton and fiancée Charles Alexander of Chilhowie, VA; sister, Bonnie Cline of Rosedale, VA; three grandchildren, Ethan Compton, Alec Compton, and McKayla Musick; great granddaughter, Raelyn Grace Musick; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Those wishing to view the service from home may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com/services/livestream at 6:15 p.m. Monday.
