Vee Helen Presley Yates, age 90, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN.
She was born in Dickenson County on May 30, 1931, to the late Frank & Fannie Ball Presley. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jay Max Yates; brothers Deward Presley, Everette Presley, Elmer Presley, and Ervin Presley; sisters Clara Bowman, Eula Mae Endicott, Grace Presley, & Dolly Tiller; and a son-in-law Clifton VanHoy
Vee enjoyed spending her spare time gardening and working with her flowers. She was a frequent visitor to Wendy’s and swinging in her swing under her deck. Most of all she was a devoted to taking care of her family.
She is survived by her daughter Lana VanHoy; sons Greg Yates & wife Brenda, Chris Yates & wife Melanie, and Scott Yates & wife Gina; grandchildren Sarah VanHoy, Candice Yates, Jessica Yates, Emily Whitaker, Amanda Caples & husband Tom, Angie Yates; great grandchildren Cherish Seymore, Christian Zint, Benjamin Zint, Nash Yates, Shylee Trivett, Nico Jones, Leeya Whitaker, Austin Caples, and Cody Caples; a great-great grandchild on the way; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
