Vincent Ray Anderson

Abingdon, VA - Vincent Ray Anderson, age 63, passed away at his home on Friday, June 2^nd, 2023.  Vincent was born in Radford, VA, the youngest child born to the late Eugenia and Edward R. Anderson, Jr.  He moved to Abingdon at a very early age and lived in Abingdon, VA all his adult life.  Vincent attended William King Elementary School and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1978. 

He worked several construction jobs in his younger years but later worked for the Town of Abingdon.  Vincent was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and New York Yankee fan. He also enjoyed cooking and raising his chickens like his Father and Grandfather before him.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tim Anderson and Garnett Anderson.

Vincent is survived by his children, Marcellus Tomlinson of Bristol, VA, Latisha Garrett of Meadowview, VA, Alexander (Selina) Rhoten of Abingdon, VA, Vincent Anderson of Abingdon, VA, and Monique Tomlinson of Bristol, VA; his brother, Charles (Chip) Anderson of Roanoke, VA, sister, Vicky Anderson, and brother, Melvin Anderson both of Abingdon, VA; and five grandchildren, two nephews, one niece, several cousins and a host of friends along with his cherished pets Lady Bug and Maggie.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Dwayne Knight, Rev. George Pope, Rev. Gary Williams, and Pastor Hattie Harris officiating.  There will be no visitation prior to the service.
