Virginia Gay Presley, 80, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 in Bristol, Virginia.
She was born in Buchanan County, VA and was a daughter of the late Toy and Rosie McFadden Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James McNeely, and second husband, Cecil Presley; sisters, Emma Lambert, Francis Shortridge and Orpha Arwood and brothers, Claude Fletcher, Donald Fletcher, Everette Fletcher and Ervin Fletcher.
All her life she unselfishly gave to all her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mumpower and husband, Danny of Bristol, VA; sisters, Mae Street of Abingdon and Fayrene Wampler of Davenport, VA; three grandchildren, Kim Fore, Jesse Fore and wife, Heather and Jason Fore and wife, Melanie; five great grandchildren, Madeline Fore, Dalton Fore, Isabella Fore, Arden Ramming and Madison Ramming; special friend, Vee Yates and her faithful and loving companion, Susie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Robinson and Rev. Willis Osborne officiating. The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
Committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Keene, Leslie, Keene, Gregory Keene, Mike Fletcher, Jerry Gullett, Joe Fore and Lance Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Martha Gullett, Brenda Street, Betty Jo Street, Vee Yates, Cutie Keene, JoAnn Roberson, Bobbi Smith, Sue Grubb and Sharon Brewer.
