William "Bo" Matney

William "Bo" Matney, age 67, of Abingdon, VA, passed away on October 27th, 2022.  Born June 29th, 1955 in Richlands, VA to the late Henry Fullen Matney and Love America Kennedy.

He leaves behind a large family including; daughter Stephanie Matney of Abingdon, VA; Hank & Donna Matney of Abingdon, VA; Larry Matney of Cincinnati, OH; Steve & Etta Matney of Tazewell, VA; Rick & the late Charlotte Matney of Tazewell, VA; Fred & Kathy Matney of Tazewell, VA; sister Pam Matney; and many nieces and nephews. 

He graduated from Tazewell High School and Southwest Virginia Community College, and went on to work in mining until his retirement.  Bo was an incredible artist and musician, and the best father, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be missed greatly by everyone that knew him. 

A memorial will be held in January 2023 for close family and friends
