Born on September 25, 1934, in Haysi, Virginia, to the late Lonnie Kiser and Lillian Cleo McGlothlin Kiser. Willis led a life marked by kindness, warmth, and a deep commitment to his family and community.

Willis had a humble beginning, driving a coal truck for his father during his youth. He later became one of the proud owners of Kiser Furniture, where he cultivated lasting relationships with both employees and customers. Myrtle Beach held a special place in his heart as a favorite vacation spot, where he delighted in the seafood and coastal experiences.
